Here is a condensed version of my thesis presentation.
even in my speep-deprived, mal-nourished, end-pf-semester, cranky state i can still be moved by the beauty of things falling apart.
case in point….
as my computer froze…on the verge of a crash, I managed to grab a screen shot of what was my Finder window. a mishmash of ftp files, email gone wrong, html code, and my Xcode development environment.
really quite beautiful. ya never know when beauty might reveal itself to you.

The sculpture will be created ahead of time and placed on a pedestal. Just above the sculpture will be a wall mounted monitor showing video of the data captured (people walking) and analyzed through the max/msp patch. This will provide a reference for the viewer to see how the data was used to create the sculpture before them.
Tread Erosion is a project that explores peoples’ movement through the built environment and uses that movement to erode and sculpt a large object on display. The final output will be a sculpture taken from the video analysis of people tracked through space for a given time.
