So I saw this tempting little video and was wooed into buying a 6V battery ($5.49) @ radioshack.  I was convinced that I would hit a gold mine of AA batteries, of which I desperately need for my Making Wireless Toys class (this video claims there 32AA batteries inside a 6V).  Wa, wa, wa…..alas, here is what I found.

Now there’s some junky batteries in the DT Lab cause I’m too scared to attempt to use them……and even if I wasn’t couldn’t use them in my AA battery pack anyways.  Poop.

bronx located building (1520 Sedgwick Avenue), said to be the birthplace of hip-hop is scheduled to be sold by the buildings owners to a real estate developer….and the future of current residents is unknown.

In the early 70’s Clive Campbell (aka DJ Kool Herc) moved into the building and began holding parties in the area. Kool Herc is known for extending the break and creating a space for b-boys and MC’s to display their talents. One could argue that without the extension of the break, there wouldn’t be hip-hop.

As of last year the building was deemed eligible for national and state historic status. The building is scheduled to be sold for $7.5 million.
